The 3rd China International Import Expo (CIIE), a pivotal event dedicated exclusively to importations, unfolded from November 5th to 10th, 2020, in Shanghai. This expo stands as China's first exhibition solely focused on the import of products and services, significantly amplifying the participation of international exhibitors.


Spearheaded by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and the Shanghai Municipality, the CIIE's mission is to forge new commercial opportunities for countries and regions worldwide, fostering enhanced cooperation and contributing to the advancement of the global economy.


Despite the shadow cast by the COVID-19 pandemic and escalating geopolitical tensions, the successful hosting of the CIIE signals China’s unwavering dedication to the principles of globalization.


The expo, held at the National Convention and Exhibition Centre in Shanghai, drew the participation of 674 exhibitors and 1,351 buyers from 64 countries and regions, engaging both in-person and virtually. The event culminated in the tentative agreement of deals valued at US$72.62 billion for the year-ahead procurement of goods and services, highlighting its significant impact and success.
